Hannah
Bedford creates women’s handmade jewellery, which includes
bespoke neckpieces through to delicate earrings. The precious
metals she works with are all embossed with subtle surface
textures, achieved by rolling the metal with handmade papers.
Granulation and fine gold fusing adorn the jewellery. Natural
organic forms and the traditional jewellery processes employed
by Hannah inspire her collections.
Hannah
has undertaken two residencies since graduating from Birmingham
School of Jewellery with a first class honours degree in 2004.
She was selected for the Bishopsland Educational Trust and
the South Hill Park Arts Centre residencies. The latter has
afforded Hannah the opportunity to develop a new exciting
body of work. Her jewellery is exhibited nationally and she
has been represented at Collect (the international art fair
for contemporary objects) at the Victoria & Albert Museum
in London. In addition to this Hannah’s jewellery collections
have also been featured on BBC TV. |
